Alignment targets for wind power turbines |
The maximum parallel and angular offsets that a coupling can compensate depend on its particular design. When offsets are large, high restoring forces arise, causing an increase in vibrations, temperatures and forces between the coupled machines. Optimal alignment targets can reduce reaction forces and their consequences.
If a coupling is used over its entire rated working range, increased restoring forces can arise at the range limits, leading to increased seal and bearing wear and – in extreme cases – to shaft fracture. To be able to achieve a shaft alignment that is optimal for operation, the user must know the alignment targets.
PRÜFTECHNIK offers these Level 3 analyses as a service in the form of temporary telediagnosis.
