Wire-drawing mills and rewinding lines use eddy current testing in combination with rotating systems to detect longitudinal defects and die marks reliably.

Cold forming
NDT equipment tests cold heading wire before it enters the cold former. Defective parts are sorted as scrap after the cold forming process.

Rolling mills
Watercooled coils are used together with eddy current equipment for temperatures of up to 1200° C to collect statistical data on the frequency and the degree of defects that occur. This data can be used for realtime process and quality control.
