Readme.txt for VIBXPERT Update tool V 1.34 Requirements: ============= The VIBXPERT Update Tool runs on any desktop or laptop PC that meets the following minimum configuration requirements: Operating system Windows 2000(SP4)/XP Processor Pentium, 200 MHz or faster; 1800MHz recommended RAM 64 MB; 256 MB recommended Hard disk 10 MB free Browser Microsoft IE 5 or higher Interface for data transfer Ethernet, or RS 232 serial port, or USB (not supported under Windows 98) What's new in version 1.34: =========================== - "No charger"-Message with CANCEL-Button What's new in version 1.33: =========================== - "Finished" - Message - >= build 277: Checks wether charger is plugged in - 8 GB Card: wrongly message: "Not enough space". Comments: ========= 1. The update tool supports the following USB to RS232 converters. D-Link DU-CS Belkin F5U103 Quatech SSU-100 Xircom PGSDB9 2. Data transfer via Ethernet or USB is faster than via serial interface. Emergency boot instructions: ============================ 1. Connect VIBXPERT via Ethernet AND serial port to the PC. Use the VIB 5.331 Ethernet cable and the VIB 5.430-2 serial PC cable for connection. 2. Start the VIBXPERT Update Tool on the PC. 3. Click on the 'Emergency boot' button in the start screen. 4. Enter the PC COM port and the IP address for VIBXPERT. Note: Accept the suggested IP address for VIBXPERT, if the IP address is free in the network. 5. Switch on VIBXPERT. Data transfer starts automatically. 6. Afterwards proceed with the standard update procedure: Load the latest firmware version into the instrument ('Step 3').
