several consecutive production steps:
The systems contain many rollers and the web length in the galvanization line is several hundred
meters. Roller parallelism is crucial both for the product quality and for straight guiding of the web.
In many enclosed installation areas, such as electroplating or galvanization, determination of the
roller parallelism with PARALIGN has become standard practice.
Rollers are often driven by means of cardan shafts. After replacing a motor in the tandem line or in
the galvanization line, the alignment of the driving and driven shaft must be checked. Although
cardan shafts by definition compensate the parallel offset, the angular misalignment must
be within the manufacturer’s
tolerance, to prevent
premature wear of the universal joints.
